Vamos a repasar qué es el subjuntivo y cómo se utiliza en español (y no, no es tan difícil)
In Spanish there are three verb moods: Indicative, Subjunctive and Imperative
►Indicative is the mood the speaker uses to express real facts or objectives that the speaker considers to be certain. Interrogatives are always done in indicative mood, they cannot be done in subjunctive
►Subjunctive express wishes, possibilities, unrealities… The speaker sees the facts as fiction, something that is not real
►Imperative mood is used to give orders or ask something to the listener, audience…
USES OF THE SUBJUNCTIVE
- To express DESIRE, FEELING or WILL
Same subject, use INFINITIVE: Yo quiero irme de viaje
When the subject is different, use SUBJUNCTIVE: Yo quiero que tú vengas de viaje (two different subjects, yo y tú)
2. To express ADVICE, MANDATE, REQUEST
Me ha pedido que le acompañe en su casa
3. Express your OPINION
In affirmative sentences, INDICATIVE: Creo que es verdad lo que dice
In negative sentences, SUBJUNCTIVE: No creo que sea verdad lo que dice
4. Express the moment of the FUTURE in which we place the action
Estudiaré español cuando tenga tiempo
5. To say DOUBT and PROBABILITY
Tal vez mañana venga mi madre
